Thanksgiving Week

If you’re here for the Thanksgiving Week there should be a large assortment of events to participate in.  Unfortunately, the pandemic has caused many of them to be cancelled.

Except the city holiday lighting ceremony – All Is Bright!

On Saturday, November 28^th, the City of Cedar will host a Holiday Lighting Ceremony to ring in the wonder of the holidays with an event that’s sure to excite your imagination and ignite that spark of holiday spirit. The annual Holiday Tree Jubilee in Cedar City is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in small-town Christmas cheer. Every year businesses and individuals donate trees that are as fully decorated as you can find. These themed trees are always over the top, always beautiful, and with a visit from Santa Claus himself, there’s fun for the whole family. This year the Holiday Tree Jubilee will be held on Main Street in Cedar City along with the All is Bright lighting ceremony and Tree Jubilee. 

Santa Claus Joins The Party!

The ceremony will take place from 5:15 to 5:45 pm and the lights will come on at 5:45 pm. The event will take place in front of the Cedar City Offices with holiday music, fire barrels, and a visit from the man himself, Santa! After the ceremony enjoy the Holiday Tree Jubilee at the Old Jolley’s Ranchwear building *Masks are REQUIRED*. There will also be kids’ activities, prize drawings, FREE family photography, and more. The All Is Bright Christmas Tree Decorating Contest—to benefit the Iron County Care and Share—is just a little different this year because of Covid-19. Well, maybe a lot different! In fact, this year each sponsoring organization gets way more than 15 minutes to decorate. They get 3 days to drop by and decorate their tree at the Cedar City Council Chambers. While we will miss seeing everyone at once, we are excited to continue this fun tradition. Chamber Ambassadors "Flip The Switch" Hope you’ll join us.  For me, as one of the Cedar City Chamber Ambassadors, we have been asked to “flip the switch” on the larger display.  Being an Ambassador is a great opportunity to get to know the other business owners and help them celebrate their business successes. We were only able to attend 6 new store openings this past year because of the pandemic.  But we usually do 5-10 a year.  Anything from ribbon cuttings to Anniversaries and Ground Breakings, we love to don our red vests and visit.   The more you put into the Chamber the more you get out of it.
